rippple data deletion
Rippple users can request deletion of some or all account data, including requests that do not require deleting the whole account.
How to request deletion
You can request deletion in either of these ways:
- Open rippple, go to your profile, and use the delete profile option to delete your account and associated account data.
- Email [email protected] from the email address connected to your rippple account and tell us whether you want your full account deleted or only specific account data deleted.
If you email us, include the name, surname, email address used on your rippple account, and a short description of the data you want deleted so we can verify and process the request.
Data deleted
Depending on the request, rippple deletes or anonymises account data associated with your profile, including:
- profile details connected to your rippple account;
- profile images and other account media where applicable;
- friend, circle, notification, and device-token records connected to your account;
- active sent rippples and active accepted rippples that can be safely cancelled or revoked;
- specific data categories requested by the user when those records can be deleted without deleting the whole account.
Data retained
Some data may be retained where required for security, legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute handling, or the integrity of completed rippple activity. Retained data is limited to what is necessary and may be anonymised or disconnected from your profile where possible.
Processing time
Deletion requests are usually processed within 30 days after verification. Backup copies and system logs may take up to 90 days to expire from normal retention systems.
